Our History

Odoni was founded in the UK by an Italian-Swiss émigré and began trading in the 1920s. After stints in London, Chester and Birmingham the business settled in the West Midlands and has been located there since the 1960s. Acquired by the Hunt family in the late 1990s, the company is part of a portfolio of businesses all engaged in the use of steel and steel products. Odoni is a constituent part of Elwell Buildings Ltd and part of the Capital group of companies. The Capital group of companies HQ is based in Cardiff.

Odoni’s name has always been synonymous with high quality and secure cycle storage and cycle security products. These days we try to offer just a little bit more and can provide assistance that help organisations develop their cycle infrastructure; whether that’s spreading the cost through leasing, providing locks to accompany our racks or even helping to develop policy and cycle advocacy, Odoni remains an innovative light in the storage of secure cycle systems.

We also hold a few core ideals dear. Sourcing our products locally is one of those ideals. All Odoni products are manufactured in the UK from British made parts. We also try and source all of our products and services from UK partners, rarely using non-UK product (as seen in our recent partnership with Squire Locks; manufacturing in the UK since 1780).

Established in 1840, Elwell Buildings' products have been widely specified and installed throughout the country by private sector companies and local authorities.
